There is evidence the open fire  cremations were occurring in the United States before America was discovered. American Indians were doing cremation. back in 1000-500 BC.

There has been evidence of Minnesota Cremation long before the “discovery” of America. In fact, cremation in the upper Midwest dates back to as early as 1500 BC, during what is defined in archaeology as the Early/Late Archaic period. Specifically, evidence of cremation has been found during this time period in cemetery sites in Wisconsin. Later evidence of cremations during the time period of 1000-500 BC has been found across the upper Midwest – in northeastern Iowa, Wisconsin, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana and quite probably, southeastern Minnesota……

Native Americans continued to practice cremation via open fires. However, what we consider to be the modern-day cremation, distinguished by indoor cremation in a high-powered furnace, did not occur until thousands of years later – in the late 1800s.

The modern-day cremation was heralded by the controversial 1876 cremation of Baron Henry Louis Charles De Palm in Washington, New York. This act was publicized far and wide by virtually every major newspaper, and started a major movement towards cremation. Supporters – called cremationists – applauded De Palm’s cremation. In fact, this cremation was one of the first steps in a major movement, dedicated to promoting cremation over the traditional burial.via www.findarticleonline.com

Farrah Fawcett iconic poster

Farrah Fawcett iconic poster

Ryan O’ Neal is reporting that Farrah Fawcett was courageous in death. She fought hard until the end. When she had a few hours left  fought on for several days.

“From the Chicago Tribune”

“O’Neal told NBC’s “Today” show that when doctors said Fawcett had a couple of hours to live, she held on for a couple of days.

“She wouldn’t move on, she wouldn’t pass. She just looked at us with a slight smile. It was awful. And then all the machines flat-lined after about 16 hours. … She was gone,” said O’Neal, near tears in the interview.”

Have you considered how you would handle death? Will You handle it courageously? Will You give up on life quickly or fight for it?

A funeral in Iran contributed to Protester Riots

A funeral in Iran contributed to Protester Riots

The  regime in Iran created  a protest funeral scenario that  lead to national protests and riots.   This all was predicted  by a Mideast expert near the time the protester shooting on June 15th 2009.

The situation evolved into protest on escalation on a grand scale .

From www.juancole.com

Near an HQ of the paramilitary Basij pro-regime militia, shots rang out, leaving a protester dead and panicking the crowd.

The problem with shooting protesters in Iran is that there will be a funeral, which will be another occasion for protest; and then a memorial service (more protest) and then a 40-day memorial (more protest). If more protesters are shot at these commemorations of the fallen, there will be memorials and protests around them, too.

Did these funerals, memorial services  and memorials spark the massive riots we see today?

Sounds extreme. Yet the numbers do not lie. The latest numbers for Stewart Enterprises, Inc point to the fact that it is becoming easier and easier to come in under the average cost of a funeral.

Picture of H1N1 Virus from WHO

Picture of H1N1 Virus from WHO

June 11th 2009-The World Health Organization -WHO- has declared that  the H1N1 Virus  Swine Flu A WORLD PANDEMIC. This a matter of grave concern because we are not in flu season. This indicates a significant spread of the virus around the world.

If this H1N1 virus strain were to mutate during flu season there could be many funerals and a worldwide disaster. This is this the first time  this has happened in over 41 years.

Your Funeral Guy believes that it could be a worldwide disaster even if the  H1N1 Swine  flu strain virus does not mutate many deaths or funerals may occur Many experts however disagree. From:TimesOnline.

A disease is classed as a pandemic when transmission between humans becomes widespread in at least two regions of the world.

WHO placed  the H1N1 #6 on it’s epidemic.

The last global flu pandemic came in 1968 over the so-called “Hong Kong” flu, which killed about 1 million people worldwide.”

At the time of this post USA  HHS had not commented.

Certainly the hope is that this virus does not bring about anyones funeral
