Your Funeral Guy  has been featured in the the New York Times on Funeral Cost. For several years now your funeral guy has advocated purchasing a casket  for a Family member online.

It certainly is the best way to go. Any Funeral Home in the USA has to accept the Casket ordered online by Law!

When one goes to a cemetery one has to watch  cemetery  costs very closely. This was my recent experience as I helped with a Friends Funeral.

“Most people understand that cemetery costs can be profound. Headstones often start around $500 and run upwards of $4000. The materials used for construction contribute to a wide price range. An average granite headstone in 2009 cost about $1500. If your loved one did not already have a cemetery plot, you will need to purchase one. Prices of cemetery plots depend on location. They start as low as a few hundred dollars and can be upward of a few thousand. Also, be prepared to pay someone to open the burial ground, and vault used to reinforce the grave site. The Average Cost of A Funeral in 2010 is between $8300 USD and $8500 USD. When Cremations are taken out of the Mix the average cost of a Traditional Funeral is between $9500 and $10,000 USD. This is the average funeral cost for 2010.

This does not include the cemetery cost.

The National Funeral Directors Association(NFDA) is to report new Numbers on the average cost of a Funeral in 2010. Their number for the average cost of a funeral and funeral cost $7, 323 USD is 4 years old.
