Recently in Kentucky a Family came to a funeral home to make Funeral Arrangements.

Instead of explaining cremation the Funeral Director took the family out back behind the Funeral Home to the crematory, and showed the Family an actual burning body.

This brought on a lawsuit against Funeral Director|Dale Bryson

Cremation Chamber

“The Brysons’ lawsuit recounts having met with Pyke after Sellersburg resident Dale Bryson, 50, the former husband of Debra Bryson and the father of Audra Bryson, died at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Louisville. During the meeting, Audra Bryson determined that she could not afford a burial and asked about cremation, according to the suit.

The women claim that Pyke led them and another family member to a crematory behind the funeral home and opened the door of an oven where “a human body was being consumed in flames.” The suit also said Pyke showed them a “grinder” where human remains are crushed and that he picked up human bones and displayed them for the visitors.

It seems that two European Coffin(casket) makers are are squaring off  using caskets to sell their Calenders. The calender on the left is from an  Italian Casket Maker. The calender on the right is from the Polish Casket maker.

An Italian and Polish coffin maker are having a sexy coffin calender war.

This one is the one technique that Batesville Casket Company has not used  to try to sell their Caskets.

Now The Italian Casket Coffin Maker seems to offer high price handcrafted jobs and the Polish casket makers price seems to be a little less.

The Italian CofaniFunebri calendar is  here and pages  from the  Polish Lindner calendar here

Disrespect for the dead in the Morgue is increasingly becoming a problem. There have been reports of corpse abuse of the dead at morgues. It was reported at the New York Post.

“Ghouls are at play in the city’s morgues.

The people employed to respectfully handle the remains of the deceased have instead turned cadavers and body parts into macabre playthings, The Post has learned.

And they shockingly documented their depraved foolery in photos taken as keepsakes.

Grinning mortuary technicians use corpses as props in dozens of disturbing Polaroids obtained by The Post.

Perhaps most disturbing of all is mortuary technician Kaihl Brassfield holding a severed head in a classic Heisman Trophy football pose.

“It was stupid,” Brassfield, 35, told The Post. “It was just the culture there. Everyone was doing it.-via www.nypost.com

One way that the funerals have changed recently is that the folks expect personalization or the funeral to be as personal as possible. There are several ways to do this as this illustration suggests. Video Tributes and  webcasting the Funeral  seem to be popular lately.

It is becoming more common for people to be buried with all their favorite things when they die, said Brian Habegger, district manager at Loomis Hanneman Funeral Home in Weston, Ohio. He said the most popular things people are buried with are jewelry, notes, cards, letters from family and pictures.

Another trend that seems to be increasingly popular is people requesting to be buried with their cremated pets.

Habegger said the most unique thing he has seen someone buried with was a Whopper from Burger King.

“Pretty much anything goes anymore,” Habegger said. “It’s just very open. People request anything. Their favorite of everything and anything they loved.”-via bgnews.com
