The H1N1 Virus has been found to mutate in Norway.
There are reports from Norway of the H1N1, Swine Flu mutating. Two people have died of the mutating Virus. Officially we do not know what this all means yet. This was reported by the Washington Post.
With the 1918 Flu deadly virus, the virus was not deadly at first but mutated into a deadly Strain.
Scientists in Norway announced Friday they had detected a mutated form of the swine flu virus in two patients who died of the flu and a third who was severely ill, the most recent report of mutations in the virus that are being watched closely for any change that could make it more dangerous.
The possibility of H1N1, or swine flu mutation could bring a deadly pandemic with world wide funerals.

While the virus is spreading at a rapid rate around the world the number of deaths in Mexico has leveled off.

First USA H1N1 Swine FLU Death reported: Baby in Texas
Sadly it has been reported that the first USA swine flu death was a toddler in Texas. The H1N1 Swine flu virus was determined to be the cause.
According to the CDC , H1N1 and the Department of Homeland Security is the virus name. It is a mix of bird flu, swine flu, and human flu. In Houston the victim died Monday night April 27th 2009 .
Immune systems in young children sometimes are not developed enough to handle new viruses.
Sometimes new flu strains pop up at the end of flu season but return again in the fall. If this is how the H1N1 Virus plays out there will be enough time to come up and produce a vaccine. If the spread becomes a full pandemic now there will not be a “true”vaccine for 5 Months.
Yahoo news has reported that the center for disease control is trying to take a short cut to a vaccine. This was tried in the 1970′s but resulted in more people dying from the vaccine than the disease.
“Using samples of the flu taken from people who fell ill in Mexico and the U.S., scientists are engineering a strain that could trigger the immune system without causing illness. The hope is to get that ingredient — called a “reference strain” in vaccine jargon — to manufacturers around the second week of May, so they can begin their own laborious production work, said CDC’s Dr. Ruben Donis, who is leading that effort.”

The situation calls for fast action i because experts do not know how the human immune system will react over the long term.

The Virus is a combination of genetic materialhuman, North American bird, and pigs one from Europe and Asia.
On April 27th Anne Schuchat, director of the CDC’s National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, told reporters in a telephone briefing:
“Genetic analysis of the virus indicates it is highly unusual: It is a hybrid that resulted from a combination of four different viruses — one that typically infects people, one that originated in North American birds and two from pigs in Europe and Asia……….
This combination has not been recognized before in the U.S. or elsewhere,” Schuchat said.
There is no reason for outright panic but diligent precautions are encouraged.

A Swine Flu Pandemic has the Potential to Bring Death to Millions. At Risk are the very Young and very Old
The danger and why the quick reaction to the possible swine flu pandemic is that it is a flu strain that the world has never seen before. The situation has the potential to bring death to millions.
Swine flu is the sort flu virus that contains genetic material of humans pigs, and birds. Mexico is a natural breeding ground because of large pig factories.
Three things that are concerning are:
1). the virus is something that has never been seen before
2) it is being transmitted from human to human and already CANNOT be contained.
3).This strain of virus can mutate or even already be deadly, but it might not. Human transmission has already caused deaths however.
There are several facts now that are quite unsettling.
‘The swine flu virus has already spread so far in Mexico and the U.S. that the containment strategy is out of the question, said Anne Schuchat, interim deputy director for science and public health programs at the Centers for Disease Control(CDC) and Prevention, the Atlanta-based U.S. agency.
“We don’t think we can contain the spread of this virus,” she said yesterday in a conference call with reporters.
“The WHO’s pandemic threat level, a six-stage measure, is currently at 3.
Evidence of increased human-to-human spread of a new virus would move it to level 4, according to the WHO Web site”
WHO is the World Health Organization.
Now why would a funeral guy make a post on this subject? Well as funeral guy student ( In mortuary school we were told to view these scenarios very carefully) As a funeral director i have been exposed to Bird flu deaths, the dangerous MIRSA virus and HIV, many times.
The Swine Flu Pandemic, Life and Death all can be looked at as a roll of the dice.
I did watch every detail of those events . Many times virus’s are transmitted to some humans and not to others.
There is a sense that the whole situation(even the Pandemic) is a roll of the dice.
That is how life and death works as well a roll of the dice.
